Could a road user assessment program reduce fatalities in Australia?

Researchers from the Australasian College of Road Safety propose a benchmarked road user assessment program to provide feedback to drivers.

Since 2020, deaths on Australia roads have increased annually with 1317 casualties being recorded in 2025.

The researchers note if the program is successfully implemented, could improve driver skills and overall road safety for Australians.
