Federal Right to Disconnect laws came into effect nearly two years ago after being passed by the Albanese government and the Greens – and despite initial opposition from the Coalition and business stakeholders, the legislation has largely disappeared from the news in the months since.
A Fair Work Commission hearing scheduled for this week would have put the legislation to the test for the first time in a case against the freight company Pacific National, but a settlement means that the details of the case will remain behind closed doors.
