Cuts to Women’s Legal Services in the 2024 budget

In the new budget announced on Tuesday, Women’s Legal Services will lose a huge amount of funding from the government.

Women’s Legal Services Australia says this new budget is a step backwards for protection of women against domestic violence.

In the wake of recent troubling events involving violence against women and the Prime Minister’s promise to do more, this development comes as quite a shock to women’s right’s in Australia.
