The third Jim Chalmers Budget has had a pretty lukewarm reception with Cost of Living measures judged to be not enough, and some concerns about whether the Budget spending would, in fact aggravate the objective of bringing down inflation.
The tax changes due July 1st are designed to combat ‘bracket creep’, but this and a few other measures have given the opposition some fuel for their fire that they are building in the lead up to next years’ election.
