Why has the sugar increased in some Coca-Cola drinks?

Soft drink manufacturer Coca-Cola has increased the sugar content in their line of beverages, resulting in health experts calling for reform in food legislation. Coca-Cola, alongside other soft drink manufacturers, typically self- report the changes in ingredients in their products in Australia. As such, there is no obligation to keep a watchdog group informed as to what changes in their products.

Food advocacy groups are renewing their calls to reform the laws surrounding the alteration of products without public disclosure. In order to protect consumers from buying products that may have changed drastically since the last time they bought them, the food industry must change.
