Interest in electric vehicles has rapidly increased as petrol prices rise across the country.

The latest Google Trends data shows a sudden spike in Australians looking into EVs with reports car dealerships are receiving hundreds of enquiries every day.

But a new car isn’t feasible for all households.

but Francis Vierboom, the CEO of Rewiring Australia, the peak body supporting community and household electrification, says the federal government needs to step up and increase incentives for electric vehicle ownership in the May budget.
