Prison officers on strike for better conditions in NSW

Prison officers from the Parklea Correctional Centre in Sydney have started a strike today to demand better wages and better safety conditions.

The strike will last 48 hours, after the company MTC Australia just offered a wage increase of 2.5 per cent to the prison officers.

Also prison officers are forced to work double shifts because they are understaffed.
