Netanyahu’s ceasefire dilemma

Pressure mounts on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a result of the new hostage deal proposed by US President Biden. Inside the Knesset, right-wing parties are prompting Netanyahu to keep on the war against Hamas. However, many in the Jewish state are calling on the Prime Minister to accept the ceasefire deal and bring the hostages home. Netanyahu, Israel’s longest-serving Prime Minister, escaped tough electoral situations before. But with growing global pressure, internal political strife and a furious Israeli public, this could be the beginning of the end for Bibi Netanyahu.
