National feral cat plan aims to reduce harm on native species

Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek has proposed a national management plan aimed at reducing the detrimental impact of feral cats on endangered native species.

Feral cats are estimated to kill over 6 million native animals across Australia every day. The plan hopes to better coordinate management efforts across the country and follows extensive consultation with Indigenous ranger groups across Australia.
