Australian War Memorial set to provide greater recognition of The Frontier Wars

The Australian War memorial is set to undergo an expansion which will cost the Australian taxpayer over half a billion dollars. Despite this large investment, the Australian War Memorial is approximately set to only spend one to two percent of its new funding on The Frontier Wars.

The Frontier Wars have previously received comparatively little recognition at The Australian War Memorial and so this expansion is significant, however, questions remain on how Indigenous people lost in these wars will be memorialised.
