Aboriginal children removal 10.4 times higher: report

A report called Family Matters was released last week, showing Australia is not doing enough to reduce First Nations child removals.

The report also shows Aboriginal children are 10.4 times more likely to be removed from their families than non-Indigenous children.

To minimise the issue, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations need to have more powers and well resourced to provide culturally appropriate services to First Nations children and their families.
