Trump’s film tariffs: How can Australia’s growing film industry stay afloat?

This week President Trump announced a 100% tariff on all Hollywood films that are produced abroad.

While there are question marks over how these tariffs will be enforced, this move is intended to revive the film industry in the US, which has not been able to keep up with all the films that have had shot and produced in places such as Australia, Europe and Asia.

While this may benefit the US, the growing industries across the world are at risk. This is even more so in Australia as our film companies will lose business and homegrown productions will not receive the same exposure. So what needs to be done so we can continue to thrive?
