South Australian LGBTIQA+ advocacy bodies are urging all SA Election candidates to support legal protections on hate, calling for legislation to ban inciting hate on grounds of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity.
This follows media reports exposing controversial comments from a Northern Suburbs Liberal candidate around feminism and homosexuality. It comes just days after SA’s One Nation candidate reaffirmed previous offensive comments about same-sex marriage.
Since publishing this story, it’s reported that Caston Woodhouse will no longer be running as the Liberal candidate for Wright.
