Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney Addresses Australian Parliament

The Canadian Prime Minister has addressed a joint sitting of parliament in Canberra today as part of his international visit to allied nations and so-called ‘middle powers’.

Mark Carney made headlines in January for his comments on the ‘rupturing’ rules-based order and warning middle power nations not to blindly follow countries like the United States.

It’s an idea the federal government agrees with in principle and, for the hundreds of thousands of people caught up in the Middle East due to conflict in Iran, it’s a welcome shift.
