Welcome to Doggone Country
Hi listeners Neil Hampshire here I just want to tell you how I got into Country music.
Growing up in a large family and having five brothers and two sisters and having country music playing all the time. My four oldest brothers always played country music and they were in a band called the Hampshire Brothers and they played all the time in Gippsland and the Snowy mountains. So I guess it had to be Country Music.
It is something I really love. I have played in bands over the years but it is so much easier sitting in the studio playing great Country Music to all the listeners that I have.
I have been doing Doggone Country for around ten years and if you have been doing it for that long you must know what you are talking about. There are so many types of Country Music. I grew up listening to Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and George Jones and I started listening to Bands Like Poco, New Riders of the purple sage, Commander Cody and his Lost planet airmen, Mike Nesmith and the list goes on.
If you listen to Doggone Country you will still hear all types of country music old and new. I am so lucky to have had the same sponsor for all that time and we have a close connection. Nolons Auto parts and Industrial supplies of Pambula and Eden have been the all the way and very proud to have them on board.
So if you are in our listening area please tune into Doggone Country every Thursday afternoon at 4.30 till 6.30.
